Hi, I’m Leong Mun Yee, Malaysian Professional Diver with immense experience in the field of diving. I started diving when I was 10 years old, and had been proudly representing Malaysia for almost 21 years. My first appearance in the Olympics was the Sydney 2000 when I was just 15 years old, and I am also the first female Malaysia Athlete to qualify for four Olympic Games.(2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing, 2012 London).
Throughout my diving career, I’ve accomplished many achievements at the international level. I was the first Malaysian diver to win a Bronze medal at the 2009 Diving World Championship with my partner Pandelela Rinong in the 10m Synchronized event. At the recent SEA Games 2017, I have also won 2 Gold medals in the 10m Synchronized event and 10m Mixed Synchronized event.
Due to my dedication and passion in diving, I made it into the Malaysia Book of Record by being the First Female Athlete Qualify for Four Oympics 2012. I had awarded as Best Woman’s Team in National Sports Award in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
In addition to my sporting career, I am also pursuing my Master’s degree in Corporate Communication in University Putra Malaysia. Education is important to me and it is a lifelong journey that enhances my professional career.
Being the only remaining active pioneer in the Malaysian National Diving team, I strongly believed that one needs to have the perseverance, dedication and passion to achieve their dreams.
